Prerequisites

• Volo, Guide to Monsters on the battlefield
• Mercurial Pretender in hand
• Great Whale on the battlefield
• You control up to seven lands that can tap to produce at least
• You have no other Shapeshifters on the battlefield or in your graveyard

Steps

1. Activate up to seven lands by tapping them, adding at least
2. Cast Mercurial Pretender by paying
3. Volo triggers, creating a token copy of Mercurial Pretender
4. The token Mercurial Pretender enters the battlefield as a copy of Great Whale, untapping up to seven lands
5. Activate up to seven lands by tapping them, adding at least
6. The nontoken Mercurial Pretender enters the battlefield as a copy of Great Whale, untapping up to seven lands
7. Activate the nontoken Mercurial Pretender by paying , returning it from the battlefield to your hand
8. Repeat

Results

• Infinite creature tokens
• Infinite ETB
• Infinite LTB
• Infinite mana lands you control can produce
• Infinite storm count
